Robert’s School of English runs an excellent English + Golf Programme!
The programme offers a tailor-made course for young golfers who want to experience the history of golf and learn English at the same time.
The course will take place in a college campus situated just 15km from the historic centre of Edinburgh, in the beautiful Scottish countryside. It’s a perfect location offering the safety of a school in a rural setting with all the excitement of a capital city programme.
The English tuition will take place in the morning, from 9-12, from Monday to Friday with classes graded according to the level.
All the teachers are fully qualified and the tuition programmes focus on activating language, especially fluency skills (speaking and listening), vocabulary extension, grammar recycling and project work.
On completion of the course the students will receive a detailed report on progress during the two weeks.
The college attracts a wide range of nationalities, ensuring that students make new friends and practice their English. Last year there were students from Spain, France, Russia, Greece, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Latvia and Serbia.
The campus offer modern en suite accomodation in twin room, arranged in apartments of 4-6 bedrooms. Each flat has a common room with sofas and tables where students can relax and stay together in the evenings. The bedrooms and communal areas are cleaned on a daily basis with bed linen changed weekly. Towels are not provided.
All meals are taken in a modern dining room in the centre of the college. The students will have 3 meals a day – breakfast, lunch, dinner – and can choose from a wide varirty of hot meals and salads.
The college hasextensive grounds with excellent facilities: a sports hall, numerous modern internet rooms, a football pitch, bowling green, a nine-hole golf course and the Scottish National Equestrian Centre.
The golf programme will give the students the opportunity to have lessons with a top PGA professional at Oatridge golf course within the college grounds. Furthermore, the students will be able to play on some of the most beautiful courses Scotland has to offer.
In fact the participants will have a tee time on one of the St Andrews Golf links plus another links course and 2 parkland courses. In addiction the package includes 2 full day excursions to visit the town of St Andrews and another popular touristic attraction. There is also an action-packed schedule of other evening activities to suit every interest.
All the groups are constantly supervised by one of our teachers throughout the whole journey.
This is to ensure that the students (especially the younger ones) are eating properly, looking after their personal hygiene, keeping their rooms tidy, attending lessons and excursions regularly.
All students have a full health insurance policy during their stay and our staff make sure that they receive all the medical assistance necessary in case of illness.
English lessons will take place in the mornings.
